Question about moving into Tokyo through web real estate agency

Hi everyone,

I’ve been living in Japan for a month now and will stay here for about 2-3 years for my work. I am currently looking to move into Tokyo and am looking for places to rent. I have seen an add on reddit for E-Housing Real Estate. I went to their website and they seem to provide foreigner-friendly rental with market price places. I am also discussing with a Japanese real estate agent through my job, however it is still complicated to pass the foreigner barrier of management companies. Typically, they ask to speak some Japanese which I don’t, and even though I am learning it will takes months before I am able to speak with management company staff. Does any one of you know of E-Housing Real Estate ? do they provide a good service for foreigners ?

  1. I heard one of my friend had a quite pleasant experience with E-housing. But he is fluent in Japanese. Other than that I believe there are a lot of other aggencies who can help you from A-Z without asking for Japanese ability. I myself just moved to Tokyo last week and had a good experience while picking my apartment too. Feel free to contact me if you want some recommandations.

  2. Depending on where in Tokyo you want to move to, Balleggs (I know, I know…) has many English-speaking staff that can help. I just found an apartment through them, feel free to DM me too if you need more info.
