Hey all,
I feel like I have a pretty good system in place to learn Japanese with an emphasis on text – Wanikani for kanji and vocab, anki for vocab too, etc. But I don’t have much that focuses on spoken Japanese, especially comprehending other peoples’ speech. Can anyone recommend some methods or tools for this?
Obviously, any immersion with Japanese TV, podcasts etc. will target this. But I don’t think I’m quite ready for that and I’m looking for resources to specifically study this in order to get to the immersion stage.

I have been listening to a few podcasts on Spotify – Slow Japanese by Mochifika and Sakura Tips. They have the scripts online so you can follow along while listening which I think is really helpful.
Once you reach a certain level, apps like Hellotalk and Tandem are pretty good. Recently, they have live voice chatrooms that you can enter and leave freely so you can go in and out with as little or as much commitment as you want.
