Gifting someone in UK for Lunar New Year’s celebration

Hi everyone, I hope you are having a good day,
I’ve got a gift from my language exchange partner for New Year and I would like to send her some gift, too. I thought about targeting Lunar New Year and it is also because her family is from Hong Kong (she is second generation). I’ve got chocolates, cookies, and ground coffee from her, and I do not know if I can send food items to UK…She lives in London and I live in Hokkaido. What kind of things would you consider sending from Japan? (She is near fluent in Japanese but I would like to avoid sending her some books as we have quite different taste). Thanks for your input.

The hardest part is who serves you at the Japanese Post Office, because if they’re incompetent you could be there for hours as they check the regulations. I think the key is that nothing should be in there that can perish within six months.

  2. Bet your friend may like traditional okashi, since she gave you lots of treats. Actually Hong Kong people are really fond of Japanese stuff, so you can basically gift them anything and they will like it ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy) No needa worry too much ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|slightly_smiling)
