  1. Isn’t this best asked in the buildapc sub? Everybody already knows that parts here are expensive

  2. Check some shops in your area. Amazon can be more expensive.

Motherboards are all over the place. Look for the features that YOU need. I don’t know if you’re overclocking, but with that CPU, only certain motherboards do it. Are you using DDR4 or DDR5? How many M.2 slots do you need? There are a lot more questions I could ask but I won’t. Go find a reputable shop like Tsukumo and ask for advice. Use Google Translate if you have to. Otherwise, like others have mentioned, there are better subreddits to ask about this in.

  3. Since you don’t have an K cpu you don’t necessarily need a Z-series chipset. If you can get a Z chipset motherboard for the same price as an H-series one or you need the better I/O the Z-series motherboard offers you can go for that, otherwise just stick to a H chipset one.

You probably already know all of this, but just in case:
For the first number you want a 6, that’s the generation that supports your cpu.
For the second number, really anything that supports all the things you want goes. If you want XMP (support for higher than standard RAM speeds) you want a 6 or 7 (or 9).

Also, if you selected this cpu because you wanted an “i5”, you may consider the 12600 over the 12400.
Also also, just in case, you are aware that F cpus will not work without a gpu?

Feel free to ask if you have questions or have trouble understanding some terms.
