Roomba alternative recs?

I’m absolutely wrecked at work and need help maintaining my small apartment. I can’t afford a roomba, but would love to buy a robot vacuum that can assist me. Any recommendations?

  1. I’ve been very happy with our Ecovacs Deebot T9+, it mops as well as vacuums, and has a poo station, but if Roomba is out of your price range, this most definitely is too.

  2. Happy with my Neabot Q11 but it’s also pretty expensive, though cheaper than a Roomba with the same features.

  3. Roborock does better than the Roomba for the same price. Been using mine for 4 years and I love it.

I never used the mop attachment. I only empt the bin once a month, so I don’t see the need of an expensive robot with a big home station, but if you have pets it may be useful.

  4. Got the Ilife VS3 Pro at home. It’s inexpensive, but it’s also a bit of a dummy. If you don’t put everything out of its reach, it’ll just drag stuff across the room. Tossed over a bucket the last time I left it unattended, fell down the genkan and went to sleep there lol

  5. We have a Roborock and it’s done wonders especially having a toddler throwing food everywhere. It may not be much cheaper but well worth it imo

  6. When we replaced our old Roomba (around 7+ years) we switched to Roborock due to online reviews and having a mop attached (no carpets in our house, so it’s the full treatment). While I thought that the water flow was a bit low on the mopping attachment it actually works quite well now. Also had some troubles now and then with connectivity, but with a reset and the latest firmware updates it’s all good now.

  7. I got one for about 10,000 yen off Amazon, I think the brand was called “Life” or something like that? Got it a few years ago and it still works well. Of course it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of a roomba and it sometimes doesn’t do as great on corners, but it really helps a lot with cleaning. Pretty reasonable price and it’s saved me a lot of time over the years. It’s one of those “you get what you pay for” type situations quality-wise but I feel it was worth it personally.

  8. Roborock is a life changer. Even the cheaper models have both vacuum and mop and my place is soooo clean all the time now

  9. +1 for Roborock

Mop attachment is okay, but I never use it.

The app is very well done and easy to use.

I bought the US one since it is not officially sold in Japan (on AliExpress)

  10. I have an expensive Roomba and I hate it. So don’t feel bad to go cheaper. I’d rather have a cheap piece of crap than an expensive piece of crap.

  11. How about people who are WFH? Better to just vacuum the place during the day? I hear the robot vacuums are noisy and can’t get everywhere.

  12. I got a Moosoo R something from Amazon at 40% off. It was 18,000 instead of 30 something. It’s been great as it has LIDAR / SLAM so does intelligent mapping. Robots with a turret in the middle usually are LIDAR.

This is the cheapest one on Amazon I think.

Do not buy a dumb robot that just bounces around as they are trash. I had a Eufy dumb robot before and it was trash in comparison.
