Some people already pointed out the solution to your question. But here’s a tip:
If you want to type faster, you should switch to a QWERTZ/QWERTY style layout. There you can write like you normally would, but it directly gets translated into Hiragana. If you type in “ra”, it will give you a “ら”. “ー” is also a seperate key then.
I recommend you using the Romani keyboard.
easier if you change to a full keyboard on Android phones. ーis right to L.
This took me forever to figure out too! I used to do such a ghetto workaround where I’d do a – and pray autocorrect would give me the option to transform it.
You gotta hit わ until it pops up
It’s with わ
I’d recommend you to use the qwerty version, it works pretty much better for me. 頑張ってね。
You can try Google’s Japanese QWERTY keyboard. It’s easy to learn and easy to use. Also it’s a life saver that you can write japanese with a keyboard you’re familiar with.
Highly recommend downloading the qwerty Japanese keyboard as it’s MUCH faster. Essentially the layout is the same as a US keyboard but you spell things out as romaji and they automatically convert to hiragana/katakana and give suggestions for autocorrect and kanji.

Right swipe on わ.
It’s on the わ button
I use gboard and have to swipe right on the わ
or you can just type – (minus)
