Playing WoW private servers from Japan

Hello everyone.

I apologise if this is the wrong reddit to ask this on, but I hope I can.
I have a friend currently living in Japan, and we’d like to play a wow private server (tauri). Unfortunately, she’s a bit scared because torrenting laws in japan are rather strict and private servers aren’t exacly legal, so she’s scared she might lose her visa or be deported. What do you guys think?
