It’s been in the news recently that he makes slanderous comments on his YouTube channel about various tarento from his base in Dubai, but does anyone here have more detailed info? Is it just boring “X is rude to their staff” or genuinely dodgy info such as sexual abuse in talent agencies?

He’s just a modern version of celebrity gossip magazines like Spa and Friday. You can imagine him as a one man TMZ. So his info is mainly benign stuff like ‘X band member/actor slept with Y actress/idol/etc in 2003.’ ‘X insulted Y’s wife so he kicked him out of the band’ ‘Z was an alcoholic and got fired,’ etc. He either doesn’t know or doesn’t the reveal anything criminal or actually interesting. A lot of his stuff is also hilariously out of date since it comes from when he was younger and had lots of celebrity friends he went drinking with and no one would dare tell him anything secret now (though on the other hand that has made him a good source to people who do want to leak damaging info about a rival etc). The people who want to sue him mainly want to for damaging their reputation which you can do regardless of whether the info was actually true or not in Japan.
The reason he might be sued and Spa etc aren’t is because the gossip mags actually usually contact the person involved and their agency and warn them about it, negotiate when to release the info in return for a future relationship with that agency, exclusives etc and may bury stuff if requested – they don’t actually want to burn bridges. He on the other hand doesn’t care and just posts everything he knows on his own channel with no filter and so pissed a lot of the wrong people in the entertainment industry off.
Says it all about politics in Japan that someone like that got elected. He’s also possibly breaking the law for having never attended to be sworn in (because he’s afraid of being arrested for the above if he comes back).
He’s a big topic on 5ch and kind of hilarious really. He’s coming back to Japan soon apparently and I’m a little excited for the clusterfuck that’s going to be.
