Table Tennis for Foreigners

Non-Japanese speaking foreigner here. I am an intermediate level table tennis player who is looking for places to play/practice/learn table tennis. Can someone suggest to me some foreigner friendly places to do so preferably near to the DT lane?

Currently I am just finding random meetups and places like Shibuya Sega where most of the population is beginners having fun!

  1. In Tokyo? There are probably hundreds of table tennis halls. Find the one nearest you.

Otherwise, there is probably a TT group at your local community center, but you’ll find a higher level of play at the try-hard clubs.

  2. meet up for foreigners AND look in Japanese for Japanese websites, there would be a ton of groups. I stopped going to the volleyball meetups because the level was super low. Im playing in Japanese teams and oh boy is it fun and challenging

  3. So maybe skip those ping ping / karaoke / darts / bowling / everything in one places… those are for folks to have fun. Obv., depends who you go there with, but I feel you’re aiming higher.

  4. Hi, I play table tennis as well.

There is a meetup group called Tokyo Table Tennis. Usually there are 3 places they hold a meetup: Kanda, Minami-senju, and somewhere in Setagaya (though the last one recently never being held again).
I can’t say for the Minami-senju one, but the one in Kanda has some intermediate players and the Setagaya one is definitely higher level than in Kanda.
