Itinerary Check, Tokyo -> Kyoto via the Tateyama Alpine Route, Summer 2023

Hi everyone,

We’re planning a trip to Japan with 2 kids (10/7) in June/July of 2023. We have a rough plan and wanted to get an idea if it was feasible, and if anyone had any recommendations. Some specific questions we had:

1) How crazy is it to take the alpine route to Kyoto? Would you set it up differently where to stay? We wanted to avoid a ton of travel on any one single day (other than the alpine route)

2) Will we be able to use luggage forwarding to avoid having to bring bags along?

3) Will the alpine route still be super busy early July? is it still worth doing?

4) any other recommendations?

Thanks in advance for your help!
