Will Ospreay: “Do you really want to put Shibata against a guy whose finisher is an elbow to the back of the skull? If you get in the ring with me, I’m going to hit that elbow. I need him to sign a waiver. I need the therapy after, that waiver needs to pay for the therapy I’m going to need.”

  1. That quote and how it’s structured gives me hope that United Empire can fill the tweener role that Suzuki-Gun has left vacant

  2. I wonder if they’re ever gonna revisit this Ospreay/Shibata thing.

Or was the whole point of their FD confrontation was to have Shibata lose to O.C. clean in the middle months later on Rampage.

  3. This ball was sadly dropped and now seems to be forgotten, but with the current storyline in which Will is “sad and mad” over having lost the US title they could easily have led him to some situation where Shibata becomes “forced” to intervene.

Possibly be just sitting in the commentary and Will starting to mess with him 🙂

But, problem is sadly that Shibata is out in other places and getting some of the matches he want, without NJPW seeming to be ready to “take the risk” with letting him compete. Hopefully this changes real soon as he was awesome in the latest Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye event.

I think a Shibata vs Ospreay match could be even more interesting now than what it was before, if done correctly.
