Electronics from Kakaku.com

Has anyone ever purchased electronics through Kakaku.com?

I have been using it to compare prices for an iPad, but all of the “shops” are third party sellers that I’ve never heard of.

Ideally I would like the lowest price, but I am also worried about the integrity of the sellers.

If you have any experience please share!

  1. What do you mean “from” kakaku.com? They’re literally an aggregator of various shops pricing/stock status, where you go and buy stuff from.

Occasionally, they DO have some kinda deals that are only for links from kakaku, it will usually say something like “kakaku限定” or whatnot, and you click the “go to shop” link and order from that.

As for the legitimacy of the shops… I’ve had zero problems ordering from various random sites on there, with some pretty dodgy looking websites, but of course YMMV.

  2. Kakaku.com is just a price comparison site, they don’t do direct sales. The shops that come up are either national, regional or local denkiya, they’re not individual sellers.

  3. Yes, many times.
And what do you mean “shops”?
Your not having heard of them doesn’t make them suspicious.

  4. It’s the most trusted price and review aggregator site in Japan. They don’t pull data from shady shops.
