  1. Don’t trust any of the Japanese guys in Shibuya who look like knock off idols, even if they say they’ll make you famous/be your boyfriend, unless you want some videos being made you don’t necessarily want your friends and family seeing.

  2. You mean “kareshi rental”, yup there is such companies but it’s helpful if you understand Japanese, as none of these sites are in english obviously, and these rental boyfriends don’t speak English either. One hour ranges about 2000-5000 yen, some up to 10,000 yen, depending on how popular or good looking they are. You also need to pay a fee to the agent, which is about another 3000 yen or so. there are also fees for canceling or changing, and you usually need to pay in advance, or a deposit in advance. There is is options of online and telephone dates as well as regular face to face dates depending on the site.

Here are a few sites to get you started.

And if you understand Japanese, or you can google translate the page, here is a site telling how it all works: [https://my-best.com/6603](https://my-best.com/6603)

If you do manage to do this, it would be interesting to hear about it on reddit btw.

  3. Renting has its upsides but if you’re looking for more of a long term thing, I highly suggest just outright BUYING a boyfriend. It may seem like a bit of an upfront expense but it’s worth it. You can get a discount on used boyfriends btw.
