Does it affects job hunting if ryunen?

So when i asked my japanese friends they always say that its hard to get a job if you ryunen even for a year in japan.However i have lots of senior that says otherwise. So who should i believe here or is it different cases for nihonjin and a foreigner studying here.ps: OP ryunen for 1.5 because of corona not letting me in to Japan after went home for a while.
