Hey! I assume it is not the first time someone asks these questions, but I’d love to get a better grasp. So basically I live in Israel, just finished mandatory military service of 2 and a half years, and I am really interested in studying in Japan instead of here. At the moment I cant enroll into a university not in Japan nor Israel because of my high school grades so I’ll need some kind of pre university. I had the idea that instead of taking one here in my country, since I’m already trying to learn Japanese, I’d take one in Japan a one which would also be a language school and then enroll into a university there.
My problems are:
1. I do not know how hard what I stated really is so chances are I’m kind of delusional, so I’d like clarification on how hard/possible what I described sounds
2. Since I’ve been to the military(not by choice) and got paid really poorly (1400NIS which equals around 450 dollars a month) I don’t have much money right now. I do plan on working before I move obviously and my mom although not even remotely close to being rich can support my with around 300-600 USD a month. Now I’m not planning to work too much I’d say 8-12 months? I can make around 20k USD in that time. Will that amount suffice as a starting point? I know students can work up to 28 hours a week there and I plan to utilize that along with the help from my mother, I just wonder if that will actually be possible to go by with these amounts.
3. Will getting into a university after completing a language school be a daunting task? by language school I mean the ones that prepare you for university and teach other subjects along with Japanese.
I’d appreciate every kind of help!

This is not a thing that exists in Japan.
>I don’t have much money right now.
For a student visa you will be required to show immigration proof of financial support. That is generally ~1.5-2 million yen ($15-20k USD/40-55k NIS) in savings. You will need this to get approved for the visa.
You will *also* need to show them the same amount of savings every time you renew your visa.(AKA: Every year) You will ***not*** make enough money with a part-time job to pay your living expenses and pay your tuition. You *will* have to deplete your savings, and if you can just barely save enough for a single year you’re not going to be able to maintain the savings necessary for multiple years of language school plus multiple years of university.
> by language school I mean the ones that prepare you for university and teach other subjects along with Japanese.
Again: This is not a thing that exists.
