Since you actually let it completely expire, you’ll need to start the process over again as if you were getting it new. Start by going to the city hall.
Too late to renew. You have to start over and apply for a new one.　Just go to city hall and they will help you out.
I just renewed mine last November. They asked for my renewed visa/residence card and most recent photo. That’s all they asked. They told me to wait 2 months until they notify me to pick it up at the city hall again and pay 1000yen. I hope that helps.
