First draft itinerary for 10 days in October – Tokyo/Kyoto

Hello! My partner and I are planning our first trip to Japan for this October. I’ve been working on a rough draft itinerary for us, but there’s a few things I’m unsure about since I’ve never been before. Any advice on what I have so far would be appreciated!

Day 1: Arrive in Tokyo, handle airport things (Pocket wifi, JR pass?, etc), check into hotel, explore area/eat

Day 2: Harajuku, Meiji shrine, Shibuya?

Shibuya Parco (Capcom store, Radio EVA, Pokemon Center, OP Mugiwara store)

Day 3: Nakano Brodaway, Shinjuku

Gotokuji temple?

Day 4: Akihabara, Shibuya (if not day 2)

Day 5: Tokyo to Kyoto, Fushimi Inari, Arashiyama?

Sagano railway?

Day 6: Day trip to Nara

Day 7: Higashiyama, Gion

Day 8: Day trip to Osaka/Koyasan

Day 9: Kyoto to Tokyo, Ikebukuro, Asakusa

Taikokan

Day 10: Ikebukuro to airport

Misc things not sure where to fit in: Sanrio Puroland, TeamLab Planets/garden in Osaka, Character Street

A few general questions as well. For a first time trip in the time we have, would it be best to cut out one of the Kyoto day trips and do more in Kyoto itself? And would a 7 day JR pass be worth it for us? Again, any advice or tips are appreciated!
