are there any online classes or websites i can pay for to learn japanese? sorry if this is a frequently asked question i’m just wanting to slim it down to one resource instead of 5 websites simultaneously
Tai Kim’s Japanese is really good for beginners. It’s a very generic resource, but still reliable. Completely free.
Wanikani is more of a flashcard website for learning kanji + vocab. Only a small portion is free, but what you get out of it is excellent for a beginner in my opinion.
Italki is good if you want to practice speaking with a native, or you just want a teacher. You pay for the lessons, but it’s available to wide amount of languages.
Imabi is not beginner friendly, and not designed that way. But, it does offer a lot of detail on grammar, vocabulary, and other aspects of the Japanese language. Worth looking at if you’re curious.
Online textbooks are another option, but if you’re not heavy into reading, then might not be for you. Maybe later, after finding confidence in the basics.
Japanesepod101, busuu, Rosetta stone, pimsleur, and many others are online courses you can pay for. I can’t recommend any, because I don’t use them, nor do I like the look of them. But you do your own research.
These are just some suggestions. Do your own research however. There might be moments where you need to use 2+ resources, or not. Stay dedicated and understand it takes time, and you’ll be able to learn Japanese.
This Subreddit also has a resource page. And a lot of information for beginners, which I really think you should look at. Try and reserve your beginner questions for a post that’s dedicated those sorts of things, there should be one every month or something. Good luck
