Hello!
I am currently planning to study abroad in Japan, at Osaka University during Spring/Summer of 2024.
However, I am wondering how to apply for the JASSO scholarship? From my understanding, applications can only be submitted by a Japanese school, so do I have to wait to be accepted by Osaka first? Can I apply now? When is the application due??
Additionally, can anyone tell me more about the application process? What should I start preparing? I know they place a big emphasis on grades but that does not worry me as I have a high GPA. Do they review extra-curricular involvement? Volunteer work?
Lastly, how is it studying abroad at Osaka University? Is the experience nice? Is the course load heavy/medium/easy? I would love to know what other people think 🙂

I’m at Osaka University now. Course load depends what program you are doing, so don’t have enough information.
When you apply for the uni, you tick a box asking for the scholarship to be applied for. So you’ll have to wait for that.
