Is there other fast OCR software (should work well with Japanese) that’s similar to Capture2Text? It should basically let me make a frame around the area with the text and immediately copy the text to the clipboard.
I currently use Capture2Text. It’s quite fast, but it seems that it is not perfect when it comes to accuracy. So alternatives would be nice to try out. Any recommendations?

I’ve used google translate for OCR sometimes, I only think it has that function in the mobile app though. You can take a pic of choose from gallery
I am also looking for something that works better for colored characters on a full color background.. If you could define the character-color of what Capture2Text should look for, that already be great.. But it seems that is not possible.
https://keep.google.com/ allows that and work quite good.
iPad Taplet OCR ✏️ – Currently doesn’t support Japanese
EasyScreenOCR works so well, but they only give 20 conversion for free 🙁
They also have an online version where you can upload a pic, this one might be unlimited.
Replying again with some alternatives this time:
Both Google and Microsoft Azure have OCR APIs that are quite good.
Both also have a free plan that costs nothing per month and limits the API calls to lower thousands.
I use [ImageTrans](https://www.basiccat.org/imagetrans/) to leverage those APIs (and also a lot more, like a local tesseract (which is the engine behind Capture2Text) or the WIndows-built in OCR)
Win: ShareX (which uses ocr space api)
iOS: ScanScan
