So I’m applying for shakai hoken under my partners insurance and the shakai hoken office are asking for proof that I’m NOT married to my partner. This request is coming from the shakai hoken office via his company so it’s a correct interpretation.
Apparently it’s because they are getting stricter, but does anyone know where I can get proof that I’m NOT married? They have my Jyuminhou, Birth certificate and copy of Zairyu Card. I don’t know what else can prove it.
Rantsidenote: I think it’s utterly ridiculous that they need proof of something not existing, like why do they need this?

This seems like a post about shopping, maybe your question is solved by [the wiki page](https://www.reddit.com/r/japanlife/wiki/shopping)?

Have you asked them what they would accept as proof? The Kosekitohon of your partner would show it he is married to you or not. Basically you wouldn’t be on it.
You’re not going to believe it, but you can request your ward office for unmarried certificate ( 独身証明書 ). Should cost you around 300 yen. This is a actually necessary document when registering to a marriage agency.
