I did a google search, as well as on this sub, but couldn’t find anything.
Just wondering if anyone would know if it is legally possible to request a child to not attend a particular class at school? Is this a city or ward thing?
What would the kanji be for this, so I could expand my search?

What do you want to exempt your child from…?
Depends on the subject. Start with your HRT. We exempted our kids from English until 5th grade, since it is a graded subject starting in 5th grade. 1-4th instead of English, they worked with a Japanese tutor as some additional Japanese practice in place of those classes.
