Planning of moving to Japan for Uni

In roughly 4 years is the time i plan on leaving (currently a minor and have made no advances as of yet). I don’t know much about how life works in japan since i’m moving from the US. I’m trying to learn as much so i’m prepared. Any recommendations on schools, the culture? Don’t worry about actually knowing Japanese because I already have that covered but everything else is unexplored territory.

Edit: As a black person where would be the best places to stay to face the LEAST discrimination?

  1. Like, you are 14 and planning on going to college there?

As most people will tell you, if you are from North America/Europe, it is better to get a degree in your home country and then decide to find work in Japan.

What do you mean by having Japanese covered? If you plan on going to a university where the class is taught in Japanese, you will need to be very proficient. If you do an English program, it’s kind of a waste as usually (USUALLY) the program could be better.

As far as being black, live in an area like Tokyo, Kyoto, etc., any popular tourist destinations.
