7 day itinerary with kids

Hey guys first time visit and actually first trip with my kids (7 and 8 years old) so extreme nervous. This is what I have so far but not sure if realistic

Arrive Monday 4pm. Travel from Tokyo to Osaka by bullet train for first hotel. Assuming we check in and leave hotel by 8 so day one no plans maybe just explore the city and get dinner ? Any suggestions for a short night would be amazing.

Day 2
Bamboo Forrest early morning.
Take the romantic train ride
And if time allows travel to awaji island for the Godzilla zip line. Kids really want to do this one so we can skip the romantic train ride if anyone says we won’t have time for both

Day 3
Universal Studios but hoping. Half day only. It’s a weekday so hoping we can knock out the big things like Mario world early enough to still do some exploring at night. Definitely want to book the kichi kichi omurice spot for maybe this night.

Day 4
Check out and travel to Tokyo for the last 4 days. Maybe we can fit one more thing in Osaka this morning before taking the billet train back? Bamboo Forrest to save time day 2? Sorry I’m all over the place 😭

Arrive in Tokyo mid day and check in to hotel. Would probably book Disney sea for this day and spend the second half of the day here since it’s Thursday now and hoping friends aren’t bad since locals are in school and work. Is half day good for Disney sea?

Day 5
Sanrio puroland. Half day. Second half shibuya crossing and exploring around there.

Day 6
Team lab planets first half.
Then Free time for suggestions since I doubt that’s take long. 😅had just planned to explore this day.

Day 7 Sunday
Wa shooing to do Disney this day since it’s the last day and we can probably kill a whole day here. Unless anyone has suggestions lol

Monday day 8 we fly out at 445pm so maybe even a chance to knock something out here in the morning like ashikaga flower park which I already heard will be blooming by then.

Sorry I know I’m all over the place but it’s the first time I plan a trip with kids. We usually just wing it when it’s adults only but I appreciate any feedback and recommendations

  2. Ashikaga Flower Park may be more trouble to get to than you think for a last day visit. It’s about 3 hours 1 way by transit, so round trip is going to extremely limit the time you have there. What time does your flight depart, and from where? If you want to see it that badly, you’re going to need to adjust your previous days, and possibly some expectations.

  3. I think you’re spreading yourself very thin here.

There’s so much travel in your itinerary (Tokyo-Osaka return, Kyoto, the bamboo forest, Puroland, the flower park, etc).

Also where you stay in Tokyo will have a huge impact on travel within the city too (i.e. west side = Shinjuku, Shibuya; east side = Disney, Ueno, Akihabara, Ginza).

And then you’ve only got two half days at the theme parks – which are both deserving of a full day. I also wouldn’t recommend Disney on a Sunday, go mid week instead.

So my main advice is to think about where you can base yourself and which attractions to prioritise in order to minimise travel.

    Good luck!
