Quitting job after paternity leave

Hey there folks. Been on paternity leave from my job for a month now and am supposed to go back to work in April. Would me quitting after my paternity leave be a problem? Would I have to pay the money I received back or get any other penalty? I’d really like to move in a different direction career wise.

  1. You only need to give two weeks notice when you get back. While what you are doing is shitty in Japanese culture, because men are usually honorable providers in a traditional sense, there are no legal ramifications to quitting after using medical or paternity leave. If you are working with Japanese, be prepared for mixed hostilities, but be rest assured you cannot be fired, fined, or charged with any legal action.
