Anyone here lived in jiko bukken or stigmatized/accident property?

Me personally no, but I worked with a guy who did that. got a really really nice apartment for dirt cheap because the prior tenant opened up their wrists in the bathtub. i was horrified and asked him doesn’t that bother you? he said no, not all (just wired differently i guess). i remember asking him, isn’t that fucked up though – you’re taking advantage of someone’s suicide to get a sweet deal on an apartment? He said no, not all. the real estate company-landlord was thrilled to get a tenant because they’re required to disclose that sort of thing and no Japanese would rent the place so they’re losing money on the property. so he rented the place, got a really nice place to stay for a while, then moved on. the landlords could then disclose the prior tenant, no issue and they could resume renting at the usual sky high rates. one hand washes the other…

   It’s real thing though. I worked in prudential tower in akasaka mitsuke. before it was prudential tower, it was a somewhat seedy hotel called the new hotel tokyo or something like that. apparently there was a terrible fire. the building was supposed to have sprinkler systems and firewall doors but, likely due to bribes or payoffs to city inspectors, it had none of that. so the place went up like a torch. for a lot of people that’s how they found out they lost their spouse and that their spouse was having an affair. so the place was an empty lot for a while and then prudential came in and bought the site and put up prudential tower. rental prices were dirt cheap which is how my company took out a huge (multifloor) office lease. i think there’s a memorial to the fire victims on the backside of the building…

2. Oh hell yeah that was probably top 5 scariest places I’ve ever lived.
   700$ for a 2LDK in Asagaya.

   That place traumatized me, I’m literally scared shitless just by even going through that neighborhood:(
