Need help with a learning path

I’m very new to learning Japanese and I’m wondering , what was your guys learning path. I know it’s recommended to learn hiragana and katakana first then kanji but at what point should I start learning about grammar and vocab?

  1. After you learn at least the hiragana and MAYBE the katakana (it is not super important to learn early). It is like knowing the alphabet – hard to understand even basic written sentences without knowing what each letter means. I personally would just learn at least a 100 simple words before doing grammar so you at least won’t have to do both at the same time. At least for maybe a few days when you first start out.

  2. It’s actually now recommended that you learn vocab first and then extra Kanji study if you have the motivation. Grammar should also be after you learn the Kana’s.
