Wow, that election really was a turning point
Happy for Japan, wishing them a quick economic recovery
Also hoping to visit soon, but that’s nothing new
In Korea, the death knell for restrictions was Omicron’s arrival and mass spread in spite of those restrictions, eventually infecting some 30% of the population. Within two months, and often times done while cases were still high, quarantine for close contacts, QR codes used to check into places, the business curfews, the outdoor mask mandate, and the quarantine requirement for international travelers were all gone (bringing back international tourism, which I know this sub desperately wants).
We shall see if a similar thing happens with Japan.
Stupid decision but the looming public health crisis will be the reward.
Great decision, now open the border
It’s because people aren’t even wearing mask correct anymore except for tatemae. Everyone is tired of it! Doing the right thing for years and yet the virus still becomes greater. People have stopped caring anymore.
