I will be studying abroad at Tsuru University this fall and I am making some budget plans.
I have tried to find the different railroad pass but I dont seem to get a monthly price for a student in any of them. I would like to have trains access in the area from Tokyo to the Japanese Alps and then down south to Fukuoka. How much is this pass per month ?
Also, how much is internet and phone usually ?

For a student pass you will only be able to purchase it between your registered address and the location of your school.
For a regular monthly pass the cost is around what you’d pay if you made the trip 7 times per week. It’s cost effective for a commute you’re doing 4 days a week, but it’s cheaper to just buy individual tickets if you’re riding 3 days per week.
I promise you that you’ll not be riding the train 16 hours a day between Fukuoka and Tokyo 4 days a week. Especially not detouring into Nagano.
