Hello! I am slowly putting together an itinerary and would really appreciate if you can share your comments and recommendations.
About me – 30M and will be traveling alone. This is my first visit during cherry blossoms season so extremely excited for it. First time in Hiroshima and Shimane region. I am into landscape photography, hiking and basically just walking and wandering around. I am very flexible with this trip but trying to keep the cost to a minimum. 😊

Day 1 | Mar 18 – 1Day Kansai area pass
– Osaka castle, Dotonbori & Osaka teamlabs
– JR pass to Kamigori, IC card to Okayama Stn
– Transfer to hotel in Okayama
– Do you think it is better to just purchase ticket to Okayama instead of the JR pass?
Day 2 | Mar 19 – San’in Okayama pass day1/4
– Travel from Okayama to Yonago hotel
– Matsue castle, explore Matsue city in the afternoon
– Catch sunset at Shinji lake
– Any good activities & food recommendations in Matsue?
Day 3 | Mar 20 – San’in Okayama pass day2/4
– Izumo Taisha and teasure hall
– Izumo Hinomisaki lighthouse
– Hikawa canola fields – hopefully already in bloom
– Any other activities & food recommendations in Izumo?
– Explore Yonago city later afternoon/evening.
Day 4 | Mar 21 – San’in Okayama pass day3/4
– Hike Mount Daisen
Day 5 | Mar 22 – San’in Okayama pass day4/4
– Adachi Museum of Art
– Travel to Okayama hotel
Day 6 | Mar 23 – Kansai-Hiroshima pass day1/5
– Travel to Hiroshima hotel
– Hiroshima castle, Shuekein garden and Peace memorial park
– Watch sunset from Orizuru tower** (Would you know another place to watch the sunset, hopefully with the Hiroshima skyline for photos?)
– Walk around the city in the evening
– Activities and food recommendations? Good place for Hiroshima style okonomiyaki?
Day 7 | Mar 24 – Kansai-Hiroshima pass day2/5
– Full day in Miyajima
– Itsukushima Shrine, Daisho-in temple
– Hike Mount Misen
– Sunset near the Torii gate
– I heard Ueno anago bento is a must?
Day 8 | Mar 25 – Kansai-Hiroshima pass day3/5
– First half of the day in Iwakuni

– First half of the day in Onomichi
– Himeji castle/city in the afternoon until evening
– Travel to Shin-Osaka or Kyoto hotel
