Struggle with output practice

So, I feel like at least some people here would be able to relate. I’m at the level I can enjoy most media in japanese (manga, anime, games) while still studying, but it is passive, and output practice is something I’ve neglected for a long time

1) I can’t really use something like ITalki because I’m too socially anxious for those kind of things, and casually finding a native to talk to for like a 5 minutes is not something possible at the place I live right now

2) I tried using Twitter, but I don’t really get what you have to do there. I’m occasionally posting smth but I don’t even now if any japanese would ever see this, let alone react

I know those things may sound stupid, but it’s really bothering me and don’t really know where to head if I want to practice output. Do you have any advice/similar experience?

  1. Pay for lessons online. I meet with someone via Skype.

Look, you have to get over your anxiety. I know how it feels, but it’s the only way. Don’t worry about being judged, people know you are trying and will be happy you are trying.

  2. I used discord. Its free and can easily find native speakers. I have a lot of anxiety too so at first I would be muted and talk in the text channels when I joined vc, but that gave me enough time to get to know people and eventually start speaking in vc. Which has been the best thing for my learning, I’ve improved the most from speaking to people on discord and I definitely recommend it
