I am in need of your help. For years, I have been dependent on the bargain that is 7-11’s Andes Keeper cabernet sauvignon. 388 yen for 750 ml of decidedly average Chilean wine. It was an amazing deal. All other 350-500 yen bottles of wine I’ve tasted have been awful.
Now Andes Keeper has disappeared from the shelves, never to return again. The next step up from Andes Keeper at 7-11 is Yosemite Road. It does taste a bit better, but at nearly 700 yen a bottle after taxes, it doesn’t hit that same budgetary sweet spot.
Are there any sub-600 yen wines out there that don’t make you feel like you’re slumming it with every sip? Pray tell!

Mouton Cadet Rothschild for drinking. For a quick lunch then de canned combini wines (mondo selection or something), they’re OK as long as they’re chilled.

Drink what tastes good. Costs are mental.
Fuck 7-11. Their shrinkflation has been the most egregious of all the conbini chains. Might be time to wave wine goodbye and switch to mixed Shochu.
I quit cheap wine long ago. Not worth it buying alcoholic juice. Instead drink less but quality. You’ll appreciate the taste.
Madonna is my favorite. 1000 yen though
De Bortoli is my go to, best cospa imo. I’m not really a wine drinker, so my opinion may not be that valuable
Whatever costs 500 yen and is red.
Mercian PET wine bottles. Who said wine has to be more expensive than milk?
Alpaca is my go to brand. The cabernet sauvignon/merlot is excellent.
Gyomo Super 1.5L bags of Spanish wine, maybe?
