Asahinet is mandating the use of some sort of Ipv6 translator because of whatever retarded standard they are making use of, and are forcing me to use an XG-100 NE router between the ONU and my actual commercial grade router (Dream Machine Pro). The XG-100 has provided nothing but problems from blocking VPN traffic in very weird ways to shorting out connections to my external facing servers. I would really like to ditch it and just hook up directly to the Dream Machine, but I have no idea if it’s feasible (and Asahinet has been completely useless and just keep reiterating I NEED to use their modem).
Has anyone on here had luck with a direct setup similar to mine?

The problem isn’t asahi-net, the problem is Ubiquity. There’s been threads about properly supporting Japanese IPoE/MAP-E/DS-Lite stuff for *years* and they’ve done nothing.

So it’s basically use one of the devices on the list linked below or get ready for a headache? Netgear is on here but the likes of Cisco and Ubiquiti certainly aren’t. Ugh. What a bummer.
