Hi guys,
I started studying Minna no Nihongo Chuukyuu and I am feeling kind of overwhelmed. The texts in the main book are hard – a lot of new vocabulary and a feeling that is above this level – and the exercises books… It’s like the exercises are in hard mode. It’s really pushing me down. The difference between the previous books exercises and this one is enourmous. Have anyone felt this? Any tips? Any advice is welcome. Thank you all!

I have no experience with that book but there was definetely a jump in difficulty when I moved from my 1st text book to the 2nd. Simple dialogues became letters and detailed conversations. Vocab and kanji multiplied with new grammar rules.
Training wheels are off.

Textbooks become considerably easier if you start learning the vocab for each lesson a few weeks in advance. If you go into each lesson already knowing all the new words, you can focus a lot more on understanding the grammar points.
I haven’t used the Minna no Nihongo texts, but if the jump is anything like the jump from Genki to Tobira, it can certainly be a bit surprising! Just keep working on it, go through each chapter at your own pace, and if you haven’t already, try to work in some native listening and reading exposure. This is the level when you’ll need to start going beyond the book to find what you’re looking for. Best of luck!
