I used TokyoCheapo’s referral link for wifi-rental.com and triple-checked to make sure that the site was legit before setting up my monthly wifi rental pickup for next month.
It seems like the card that I used for the rental was compromised somehow through that site. (I assume that this is the case because I have not used this card for any other purchases online.) I had a bunch of random charges to Japanese video streaming services. Luckily I caught it in time 😵💫
I’m not sure if I should cancel my rental and use another service as a result of this, but I just wanted people to know that their website might not secure.
