Hello Everyone,
Does anyone know where I can find big kimonos around the Tokyo or Kyoto areas? New or used, it doesn’t matter with me. I am about 315 pounds and around 5’11”.
I went to some stores near Shinjuku and their biggest kimonos are a little small for me. I’ve seen a couple of bigger people here (about my size) walking around with kimonos so I’m assuming there are some shops somewhere.
I’m assuming I probably have a better chance near Kyoto, I should be there in about one week. All help is appreciated.

I think there is an area close to where the Tokyo sumo tournament is happening where sumo wrestlers buy their clothes. I imagine if you were going to have any luck you’d have it there.
Most stores carry up to M or L size. You can get up to a 10L yukata online. Most likely can get kimono too. Kimono are significantly more expensive though.
