Lingq language App

Does anyone here use it? I just downloaded it today because I like Steve kaufman and he is always promoting it on his youtube channel so I thought I would give it a shot. Are the premium features worth it?

  1. Hey – Yes, I do (I’m also part of the team).

Quick bit of background, I started using LingQ part-time in the beginning of 2019. I had just moved back from Japan and understood ZERO Japanese and decided to finally make an effort.

I’m now conversationally *fluent.* In fact, I just came back from a trip to Japan and what a difference being able to speak the language makes (duh!).

    Quick look at my stats:

    Listening Hrs : 231.6

    Words Read : 1045469

    Speaking Hrs : 312.00

    Written Words : 7871

Anyways, if you’re serious about learning Japanese, LingQ is a great **tool**. The premium features make the app worth paying for. You get unlimited “LingQs” and also “Unlimited Imports”. LingQ comes with hundreds of hours of Japanese graded material and recommends content to import from across the web. With premium, you can go through as many lessons as you want and build your own Japanese library. Personally, I mainly import short novels 「小説」and podcasts with transcripts.

LingQ keeps my content organized, saves me time, and tracks my stats.

I also made a quick [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Gjc2Dlh0oY) that shows how I use LingQ to learn Japanese. This should help you make a decision.

LingQ’s main focus is to let the learner learn from content they love. There is a never ending river of Japanese content available on the web – from anime to podcasts to short stories (with audio and transcripts) – which makes it a great language to study on LingQ :).

    Good luck!

P.S. I was going to make my own “progress” thread but there already is some great advice out there. All I can say is learning Japanese **takes time** and requires a lot of patience…it can’t be rushed.
