I read a recent post I can’t seem to find saying they only learned the first 4-500 most commonly used kanji. Does anybody know if RTK is in that order? Or where to find that list?
It is not. Get the RRTK450 deck or get an RTK Anki deck with frequency info and sort by it. Or load your own kanji list into [https://kanji.koohii.com/](https://kanji.koohii.com/).
RTK essentially goes in order of complexity. It’ll prioritize teaching you some stuff you should (practically) never see as standalone kanji in daily life simply on the grounds that it shows up in more complex and more practical kanji.
You could get a vocab list with the most common words and learn the kanji in that order. Practically speaking the most common 1,000 words are probably going to have around the top 500 most used kanji in them.
