I’m moving to the UAE this spring and am having an absolute nightmare finding a way to shop 3-5 boxes. Yamato Kuroneko won’t ship items for moves unless it’s via their kovi g service which costs 300,000 yen and takes 2 to 3.5 months, and multiple people have warned me against Japan Post for the UAE specifically due to customs nightmares and lost packages. Sagawa seems to have similar rules to Yamato.
I really don’t know what to do… I’ve lived here over a decade and have a decent amount of sentimental items to ship. Is it best to just try and bring as many suitcases as I can on the plane? I’m already bringing two cats.
I could really use some advice 🙁

How about Nittsu?

If it’s just 3-5 boxes, extra luggage sounds like the best way, especially if you’re afraid of stuff getting lost.
Why don’t you just buy extra checked baggage? I think it’s like $50 ~ $100 for an extra suitcase.
I would also suggest just checking extra luggage with the airline.
Think of it like this: you’re basically paying for same-day international delivery for a lot less than you’d pay via courier/post office.
