My friend pays the suppliers and dates the owner for the married restaurant owner in Tokyo. Here is what she said. The restaurant has regular customers and was open during Covid except for a couple of months despite this the owner claimed about 10 million yen in Covid support. The handful of staff weren’t paid anything when the restaurant closed.

Pays a regular 300,000 yen a month to the wife for household expenses (even during Covid). The wife has a full-time job. Her money and the household’s money aren’t included in the 90 million yen. But as the owner covers the bills at home they more than likely have subtstantial savings and investments.
