People who moved from Tokyo to Osaka how was it?

  1. Less AND friendlier people, cheaper rent, better food, but a little less to do. As it’s close to Kyoto, Kobe, and Nara, I can go there on a whim.

  2. The people are more in your face and friendlier. More straight forward. People in Kyoto are stuck up and think their poop don’t stick because they’re from Kyoto. People in Nara are all old and drive like crap. People in Hyogo are prejudice. People in Osaka are funny. The roads are super narrow so be careful of ditches. It was easier to get an apartment in Osaka than in Tokyo. I enjoy kansai, but I miss Tokyo because it was convenient. Many more foreign goods, shops, and people.

    These are all sweeping generalizations.

  3. **Nicer**: More varied landscape, biwako, seto inland sea, awaji island. Somewhat more interesting places in Nara, Kyoto and Shiga than there are in Saitama, Chiba and Ibaraki. Closer to Nagoya and Hiroshima as well. Basically having a car will improve your enjoyment of Kansai. Commute is better, because trains are not as crowded.

**Worst**: Tokyo has more events on larger scale, toy show, game show, car show, manga show, life show, furniture show, you name it. Almost no equivalent in Osaka, or on much smaller scale.

Tokyo also has better support for raising kids. e.g. It’s littered with children halls, you can drop in, play board games, leave your child for ~30 minutes while you go get groceries real quick (there are people there that will actually watch your kids), free hospital visits, etc.
