  1. We’re gonna be in the year 2077 and this sub is still gonna be obsessed with Covid, sad smh

  2. > The capital, along with Osaka and Fukuoka, were among 30 of the country’s 47 prefectures to report record highs this week.

alrighty masks back on then here in the US if Japan is already having an issue.

  3. >> Shinichi Koyama, a systems engineer, said he wasn’t surprised infections had risen to record levels. “Since around spring, everyone has calmed down and gone back to normal,” he said. “So to a certain extent this was predictable.”

This isn’t driven by relaxed policies though. It’s the new variant…

But they’re not going to declare a state of emergency.

Every SOE has driven cases down fairly rapidly. But I don’t suppose that’s on the table because, you know, the economy.

    Hmm.

  5. And they just opened travel. I mean, not really, but I bet they shut the borders again.

  6. A friend of mine got covid recently. He was at bars the same as usual, every other night.

I did a festival the other day but couldn’t get into the main venue due to me not getting a Corona ticket in time. Still crammed onto the trains into the town though.

Ultimately I appreciate the seriousness with which Japan treats the situation but I also think that certain concerns are just suppressed and not talked about.

  7. Can the dirty Gaijin stop infecting the poor brave natives for 5 minutes? /s

  8. Guys they ain’t even gonna consider opening up till 2025 at least at the rate they’re going.

  9. once people stop testing ..covid will disappear

once people stop watching and reading the news…covid will disappear

    but herd mentality
