  1. If “over” means the reality has set in, his gimmick has run its course, and fans are “over” the Wato experiment …. Then, yes.

  2. Wato went from looking like a goof getting attacked by Douki to silence in his debut to being 4th guy in a 4 way match for the Jr title. Admittedly hes not screaming next Liger but he’s become a solid hand that’s pretty consistently improved since returning for excursion. Certainly worst positions to be in than that.

  3. Ok, no joke. I just woke up from a nap and dreamt that Master Wato was wrestling KENTA KOBASHI and fucking WON! My subconscious is apparently all aboard the Wato hype train.

  4. Fans are sympathetic towards him. Apparently had a rough time on excursion, came back at a bad time, WOAT gimmick, looked and moved awkwardly. So the mere fact that he went from a C to B tier wrestler means.. WATOMANIA IS RUNNING WILD BROTHER! WATOOOOOO

  5. In the west not really in Japan definitely. He’ll be a jr champ before you know it.

  6. He’s improving and looking more confident. I’m sure at some point he will get a more serious gimmick and everything will be OK for him. Long term I see him being very important in the junior division.

  7. He will get over because he is an absolutely incredible worker.

It will be in spite of the gimmick rather than because of it, which IMO is a testament to him.

  8. There was alot of Wato towels at the last korakuen like I think outside of lij wato might’ve had the most towels

  9. When he was a Young Lion, Kawato was my favorite out of that cohort. Then he came back as Wato, and the I lost all interest in him in favor of O-Khan. And then that fourway happened, and he’s won me back.

  10. I think he is little by little, his perfomance at WK17 was really inspiring and it convinced me that one day, he will be one of the main faces of the junior heavyweight division, if he isnt already.
