I’ve only been studying Japanese for around a month, but I wasn’t brand new to the language. I had already known hiragana and most katakana when I had started from taking a Japanese class last year and a decent amount of very basic vocabulary. In the month that I’ve been studying everyday for multiple hours a day, though, Teppei sensei is the best thing that I have come across. It is incredible how the cards I learn in anki even just the night before I will hear in his 3 minute conversations the next day. I know he’s pretty well regarded, but genuinely nothing has reinforced my confidence in learning Japanese as much as his beginner podcast. If I ever get down or distressed from feeling like I’m moving too slow or doing something wrong, listening to his podcast and being able to understand 60-80% of what he is saying reinforces my confidence so much. I’m looking forward to being able to understand him 100% and I’m sure that day will come relatively soon. Just a great overall resource and very fun listen everytime. I love how encouraging he is, always saying to do your best.
Edit: I wouldn’t say it’s the best resource in terms of actually learning, but so far the best in boosting confidence as well as being able to apply the vocabulary that most beginners learn within the first few months. I also have picked up quite a number of words and grammar pieces from the podcast that I haven’t seen yet. Probably the most fun resource for beginners as well, depending on who you are I suppose lol.

I’ll recently started listening and I agree, it’s a nice little boost to confidence/moral to be able to understand something. I’m not even N5 level but it feels great to understand most of what he says (at least in the first 10 episodes, I’m worried it’ll start going over my head quickly haha)
