I went to see the Chichibu icicles last weekend. Wasn’t bad and the town was nice enough too.
Drive down to the coast along the [房総半島] *Bousou-hantou*, in *Chiba-ken*.
Enjoy fresh, charcoal roasted shellfish along the sandy skirts of the raucous winter Pacific.
Visit the famous [棚田] *tanada* stepped rice fields, while you’re there.
Don’t unless you have studless tires, chains, or the like.
Not a good weekend for driving outside of metropolitan areas.
Hakone or Chichibu?
Or maybe a drive across the Tokyo Aqua-Line.
Travel to Yokosuka, cross through the mountains within the Miura peninsula and reach Zushi. From there enjoy the awesome views of Mt Fuji as you drive. Pass through the Kamakura/Enoshima area, and just keep driving along the coast. Really pretty.
