How to get tax exemption certificate (⾮課税証明書) for my wife

For context:

I just missed an email that was sent on the 16th about the Reconfirmation of Dependents and Survey Form for Health Insurance. According to the email, the deadline to submit the documents is on January 30th. If I fail to submit the documents, the insurance will be cancelled based on Article 50, Paragraph 7 of the Enforcement Regulations of the Health Insurance Law.

Filling out the form was easy enough, but I need to provide a certificate of tax exemption for my wife as she does not have any income. I have searched the internet and it seems that I can get the certificate from a Konbini, or I might need to go to the ward office by Monday morning.

This is the flowchart explaining whether my wife needs the tax exception certificate. [https://imgur.com/a/jN3r90J](https://imgur.com/a/jN3r90J)

For those who know, how long does it take to obtain the certificate? And am I safe with my plan?

  1. Just go to the ward office first thing when it opens on Monday. If you’re really lucky you could be in and out in a matter of minutes, as I usually am. And in my ward office at least there’s an army of helpful guides standing around to explain to you what to do and where to go, how to fill out the forms, etc. There’s usually a small printing fee involved, certainly no more than ¥500. It’s not a big deal at all. You got this!
