Macbook Pro M1-M2 Pro US Keyboard + Tax refund?

Hello, dear community.
I am looking for Macbook Pro M1 Pro or M2 Pro (depending on deal I get) with US Keyboard configuration. Some people say Apple store keeps in stock some basic configurations which would be fine for me, but when I check store, it says it takes some weeks to arrive, so it wouldn´t seem to be in stock.
Also I´ve seen some amazing kakaku prices for M1 Pro (253.000 yen), vs Yodabashi-Biccamera at 310.000. So price match would be interesting but they come in japanese keyboard.
Any suggestions.
If I find some amazing deal for example 253.000 in biccamera or this place called wink digital, and get the tax refund, it might be an amazing deal, so I might buy in japanese config anyways. (for reference, in the US a refurbished M1 pro is 1950usd+tax= 2150 usd.)
Also, Im traveling to Seoul, so prices/english keyboard availability might be better there?
Cheers,
Bautista

  1. any mac I bought here had to be special ordered for the US keyboard.

you might be able to find a used one but even that might be tough

  2. wink digital is legit so no worries about their cheap prices but the guy freaked out when he saw mr. gaijin entering the door. you won’t get far with english and the tax refund might just be a questionable possibility there

  3. Not sure about your situation, but just so you know tax refund is not as easy as it was before (at least for expensive electronics like cameras, phones, computers). Apple Store staff told me the other day that they’re not doing tax refund in store any more. You would have to go to the counter at the airport to get it done when you leave, and they only refund to your overseas bank account. Obviously, your residence status is also under closer scrutiny than before. If before I could simply show my passport in store, now they actually verify that you are a temporary visitor. Also the whole process takes much longer at the airport. That’s what I heard, but have never gone through this myself. Curious to hear from people who have done tax free on laptops or phones recently.
