Electricity got cut… How to get electricity back during the weekend? Tepco doesn’t answer on weekends.

I was away for a few days and just came back to a dark and cold apartment because I’m dumb and missed bills.

I paid the bills, but the official Tepco number only works during weekdays. Can’t find any emergency number on bills or website.

What to do? Can’t wait until Monday without electricity.

  1. Call a competitor like machi ene. Tell them you will switch contracts if they can turn it on asap?
The alternative is look online for your local tepco provider or substation. Not sure I can help you with that

  2. This is why I bought several portable outlet battery packs as well as a portable solar panel charger, lol.

  3. The problem isn’t just that they cut the power, they’ve also cancelled your contract with them. You’ll need to make a new contract to get the power back on. The process doesn’t take that long, but you do need to talk to someone to get that done, so…you may be SOL.

You can try asking your landlord or the leasing company if they have any emergency weekend numbers. There’s gotta be people who move in on Sundays. If not…check into a hotel until Monday?

  4. Is it the same Japan – one of the world most developed countries? Because it doesn’t sound like that. /s

  5. First I suggest making sure Tepco really cut off your electricity. Just last week, our power got cut off and we thought Tepco turned it off even though we paid our bills. Turns out, the wind broke our electricity line or something and they came to fix them and the power returned within an hour after they came. One thing to think about
