Best bet for a box would go to a music store and see if they will sell you a used box.
Does it not have a hard shell case? I’ve sold two guitars in Japan on yahoo auction, one of which was a Martin, and both times I just wrapped the case in bubble wrap and duct tape and shipped it like that. Had no complaints.
In addition to the great solutions here (and mercari) regarding selling,
I bought a guitar (fernandes/burny mg-105x) from hardoff’s online store, so I tend to believe it is also possible to try and contact a hardoff store near you regarding selling.
It can be much easier to speak to someone in person, and unlike mercari, the shipping and packaging will be handled via the store.
My friend also bought a cheap bass to play on for his 1 year stay from a nearby hardoff store, and then sold it back via them as well.
good luck!
