Hello!
I will be going to Japan in end of march to April and am currently planning on where to go.
I was looking up on going to the Chureito Pagoda around March 23, but it seems most people leave from Tokyo and go back to Tokyo. If possible, I’d like to start from Tokyo and go west, maybe nagoya or shizuoka? I briefly searched on Google maps and it doesn’t look to easy to go to. Any and all help is appreciated!

You can either take a bus from Kawaguchiko to Mishima station on the shinkansen or you backtrack toward Tokyo and go take the shinkansen in Yokohama.
From Kawaguchiko the other options of places to go would be bus to Gotemba then to Hakone. Or actually could take the train from Gotemba to Shizuoka.
The last options are going in a completely different direction. Bus to Kofu. Train to Otsuki then instead of going toward Tokyo, go toward Matsumoto.
